Underglaze porcelain painting
Learn how to apply Gosu, the traditional blue pigment, on porcelain bisque. This activity can take 30 to 90 minutes depending on age and level of interest. After the workshop we will glaze and fire the porcelain in the gas kiln at 1300c. This can take up to 3 weeks.

Overglaze decal workshop
Overglaze decoration is a specialty in Arita. Decals are one of the techniques used to add colours and designs to porcelain. This activity can take 30 to 90 minutes depending on age and level of interest. We fire the piece after you decorate it in the overglaze kiln at 800c. This can take up to 2 weeks.

Visit our factory. See our artisan work and learn how porcelain is made. The self guided tour is available most workdays upon reservation. We provide a map and the factory information in Japanese or English. This tour will take you around all the department of our factory. You will receive a porcelain souvenir at the end.
Occasionally we can offer guided tours depending on our staff’s availability. These tours can be done in Japanese, English, French or Korean.
