What’s an Art Residency?
An Art Residency or Artist in residence is a program during witch a host provides housing, work space and time for people to create. The main goal usually is to enable the participant to focus on their work. It is an escape from normal life and an opportunity to explore new ways of expressing one’s art.
Residencies are valuable moments for artists to find inspiration, learn new skills and connect with other artist, teachers and mentors. Artist may seek residencies in foreign countries in order to explore a new culture. To disconnect from their daily routine. Whether it is to concentrate on creating, exploring or just for resourcing your self, the important part is to select the residency that is right for you.
