How to get to Kouraku

About 25 minutes on foot from the station. Turn right when you leave the station. Walk about 200m and go over the train tracks. Turn left on the main street and walk down about 600 m to the street light. Turn right and walk 900m to Kouraku.
Rent a cycle atKiln Arita in front of the station.
About 5 minutes by taxi. Mention to the driver you want to go to Kouraku Gama.

Airports closes to us: Fukuoka international airport, Nagasaki international airport, Saga city domestic airport. From there car or trains are the best way to travel to Arita.
Shinkansen Stations: Fukuoka Hakata station or Takeo Onsen station. Transfer to local train to Arita.
Art Residency

There are no specific prerequisites in regards to skills or knowledge of Porcelain. We encourage everyone to apply. However, you must be 20 years old by the first day of your residency.

The residency program is open from February to November. Starting dates and availabilities vary depending on applications. Popular months such as April-May and October-November are often booked 2 to 3 years in advance.

Porcelain making requires time. 2 weeks is insufficient to complete the process as factory firing is done on a set schedule.

No, our facilities are equipped for porcelain reduction firing only.
Treasure Hunting

We do not offer international shipping for Treasure hunting or Outlet store purchases. However, the local post office is able to ship overseas.

Treasure Hunting is an onsite activity. We do not offer online or virtual Treasure Hunting.

Arita Porcelain! If we tolled you more it wouldn’t be a treasure hunt.

The Treasure Hunting is closed during the New Year Holidays.
